 has been rising on Beverly Boulevard, directly across from West Elm—a fitting contrast of old-world craftsmanship against contemporary retail design. Now, as 2025 approaches, the building nears completion, standing as a testament to materiality, space, and process.

 is striking. Its façade is adorned with handmade tiles by artist Michael Dopp, each one a small but deliberate gesture toward texture and tactility. Acute angles shape the structure, lending it a sense of quiet dynamism, while natural materials—light oak wood and raw concrete—anchor it in warmth. Shiny steel beams catch and reflect the LA sun, framing the building’s expansive openness.

Inside, the space breathes. The first floor is dedicated to the making and exhibition of High Society’s garments, a seamless interplay between craftsmanship and presentation. The wide, open layout is softened with layers of silk and organza, which act as temporary dividers, shifting the environment to accommodate different moods and needs. A separate room for tailors ensures the precision of their work remains uninterrupted. The front of the house is an immersive retail experience, while the back hums with the meticulous artistry of tailoring.

, an exploration of raw material and the philosophies behind clothing before it even takes form. It’s a quieter space, a place of research and reflection. A dedicated meeting area opens up to a panoramic view of the Hollywood Hills, enclosed by glass doors and bathed in natural light from a skylight above. It’s a moment of pause, a reminder of place and perspective.

 is more than just a building—it’s a statement on process, material, and the intimate relationship between fashion and space. As it nears completion, it promises not just a new home for High Society, but a new way to experience the art of clothing.

Since 1968, High Society has been a testament to the perseverance and artistry of Korean immigrants in America. Founded by Richard Lim, a Korean tailor who arrived with a vision of bringing bespoke craftsmanship to his new home, High Society has grown from a modest workshop into a renowned name in custom suiting. Today, the Lim family continues to uphold that legacy, blending time-honored tailoring techniques with modern innovation.

At High Society, every bespoke suit is more than just clothing—it’s a story of precision, heritage, and personal expression. Our hanbok-inspired designs pay homage to Korean culture, reinterpreting classic elements with a modern sensibility. In the same way 

 honors the lives and labor of Korean immigrants, we take pride in being part of this larger narrative, carrying forward the spirit of craftsmanship and community.
